Fat Burrito Is Born
Rick has been in an out of the local music scene since 1988. His first band, “You Know” was founded by his good friends and RPM contributors Gary Fox and Brian Martin. After a hiatus he re-joined Fox and Martin in “Big Dog Neighborhood” in 1996 and played several shows around the area. In 1997 they released “Don’t Talk to the Driver” which was well received. In 2000, Rick went on another hiatus—taking up photography as a creative outlet. In 1994 Matthew was born to Nancy and Rick. Who would have guessed at the time that Matt would play a critical role in a collaborative album with his Dad some 17 years later?
Matt started playing guitar in 2008, inspired by the guitar simulation video game and his mother’s suggestion. (Nice call Nancy!) From the beginning, Matt has taken lessons at Ralph’s House of Tone with Russ Graham and has quickly developed into a soulful rhythm and lead guitarist. Matt has performed with various teenage acts on stage at the Brick House in Dover, NH as part of the Rockright Academy of Ralph’s House of Tone (many with his cousin Ryan Duchesneau who also plays guitar) as well as with adult players. Matt hopes to continue to grow musically and work his way into the live, local music scene of southern Maine, and New Hampshire. It is worth noting that Matt completed work on the first record before his 18th birthday.
The band, Fat Burrito, for which these albums represent, was created around August of 2011 when prompting from Rick’s old band mates, and the desire to create something musical as a father/son team inspired the two musicians to take part in the 2012 RPM Challenge. Matt and Rick decided to do this on their own without other outside musicians in the interest of time (you only have 28 days to record) and to further seal the bond of father and son with a long-lasing memory of a time when they saw eye-to-eye musically to create this amazing record. We now have three albums and 30 songs to our credit!
Matt Aubin--Guitars and Bass
Rick Aubin--Drums and Vocals

Our first RPM!
I Can See The Moon(2013)
This is our second album and was produced for RPM 2013. We leaned more in the direction of Rock on this one and hope that the songs form more of a connection from start to finish. We had a ton of fun producing this despite the pressure of the looming deadline.
This is our third album and was produced for RPM 2014. We set our sights in the direction of rock and spent a lot of time trying to tie this one together. We used a better drum miking technique as well as a consistent approach to guitar sound. We hope the result is an album that feels connected from start to finish. We had lots of fun producing this and feel it is our best work to date.
